Eternal Flame

The rain was falling hard over the city of Dhaka that night. Roads glistened like black mirrors, and the sound of thunder echoed like distant heartbreak.
Ayaan stood under a broken streetlight, cigarette in hand, leather jacket soaked. He wasn’t the kind of boy mothers wanted for their daughters — but he was the kind girls fell for without warning.

Riya appeared from the mist — elegant, confident, but with eyes that carried secrets. She was on her way home from university when the storm forced her to take shelter under the same broken streetlight.

Their eyes met.
For a moment, the noise of the rain faded. Ayaan smirked, “Seems like the rain planned this.”
Riya rolled her eyes but couldn’t help smiling back. It was the beginning of something neither of them could have imagined.

Chapter 2: Fire & Storm

They started meeting often. Midnight walks, late-night phone calls, stolen glances in crowded places. Ayaan was reckless but gentle with her. He loved her like the ocean loves the shore — wild, unstoppable.

Riya, on the other hand, loved him like fire — bright, pure, dangerous. She brought calm into his chaos. He brought color into her silence.

Their love grew fast and deep — too deep. They shared everything: dreams, fears, pain, laughter. Under the stars, he whispered in her ear,

“If the world ends tomorrow, I’ll still find you in the next one.”
And she believed him.

Chapter 3: Cracks in the Sky

But life isn’t kind to love stories that burn too bright.
Riya’s family didn’t approve of Ayaan. “He has no future,” her father said. “Love doesn’t feed a family.”

Ayaan tried to change. He worked hard, took odd jobs, tried to prove he was worthy. But the more he tried, the more the world pushed him down. Riya stood by his side, but pressure grew heavy.

Fights started. Words became weapons. Nights of laughter turned into nights of tears.
One evening, standing on the same bridge where it all began, Riya whispered,

“I love you… but love isn’t enough anymore.”

Ayaan grabbed her hand tightly. “Then I’ll make it enough.”
But her eyes said it all. She walked away in the rain.

Chapter 4: Years Like Winter

Time passed. Ayaan left the city. Riya got married — not out of love, but duty. Yet, every raindrop reminded her of him. Every bridge felt like their first night.

Ayaan became successful — rich, respected, but empty. No matter how loud the world cheered for him, silence lived in his heart. He never loved anyone again.

Every year, on the same date, he returned to the bridge… hoping.

Chapter 5: The Return of Rain

Seven years later, a familiar scent of rain filled the air. Ayaan stood on the bridge, older, stronger, but carrying the same heart.

Then he saw her. Riya. In the same white dress she wore that first night. She walked slowly toward him, raindrops dancing on her face just like before.

She whispered,

“I couldn’t forget you.”

He held her face gently. “I never stopped waiting.”

The rain fell harder. They kissed under the storm, not like the first time — but like two souls finally finding their way home.

Chapter 6: Eternal Flame

Life didn’t give them a perfect beginning. But it gave them a second chance.
They left behind the noise of the world and chose love — raw, real, and eternal.

Some flames don’t die.
They wait through the storms… to burn again.
